Karen Ingram was born and raised in Central Massachusetts. It was not until she met some interpreters for Walt Disney World while on vacation in 2001, that she knew she wanted to become an interpreter. Knowing only the alphabet, she enrolled in Northeastern University's Interpreter Training Program. Four years later, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and decided to relocate to Florida. Currently, she is a freelance interpreter in the Central Florida Region and has the added joys of working in theme parks and in the VRS environment. She lives with her husband, Matthew, and her 5 turtles.
This is the first year that Karen Ingram will be participating as part of the Conference Committee for the FRID Conference. And she looks forward to putting together a great program book for the attendees!
